Packing list for Long Island Disaster Recovery Team
 
Come prepared with the following personal items:
 
Bible
Special Prayers, Spiritual Poems, etc. for Evening debriefing session (optional)
Bedding (Sleeping Bag or sheets and blanket; air mattress and pump) 
Pillow & Pillow Case
Hard Toed/Closed Toe Boots/Shoes –Recommended For Working in a Disaster Area
Work Gloves
Comfortable Shoes for Back at Base Camp
1-2 Zip-Lock Bags (Jumbo Hefty Bag 2.5 gallon is great for soiled clothing. Ziplock sandwich bags are great for work site snacks!)
Hygiene (Towel, Face Cloth, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deodorant)
Brush/Comb
Soap—Body and Hair
Any Required Feminine Products
Medications, including any Cold Remedies/Aspirin/Aleve
Small Tube Hand Cream
Any Drug Store Items You Normally Use
Anti-Diarrhea Medicine or Anti-Constipation Medicine You Would Take
Tylenol-PM, Sleep-Ease (if desired)
Soft Earplugs (These make sleeping with others who snore a much nicer experience!)
Sun Screen – Consider 30 or above
Bug Spray (WITH Deet) – if needed
Jeans or heavy-material  pants
Shorts (optional, depending on weather)
Clothing for layering (T-shirt; long-sleeve shirt; fleece, etc.) depending on weather
Outerwear
Underwear
Rain Jacket or poncho (optional, depending on weather)
Hat/Bandana (optional, depending on weather)
Sleeping Wear
Socks (Extra As May Get Wet)
Sun Glasses (optional, depending on weather)
Extra Pair of Glasses If You Wear Them or Contact Lenses
Personal Comfort Food/Items (Small amount for work site snacks)
Small Notebook or Journal and Pen/Pencil
Back Support Belt (if you think you will need one)
Some walking-around money
Cell Phone and Charger
Camera and Charger
