Blessings and Farewell to the Reverend Jeannette L. Bassinger-Ishii

It is with gratitude and thanksgiving that I offer appreciation for Jeannette's ministry. She has officially transitioned to the retired status.

In July, when I first met the NYAC delegation and gathered supporters at the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference, Jeannette indicated that she would be retiring in a few months. I thank her for agreeing to stay longer than she originally planned. During my transition, she has been supportive, prayerful and has provided excellent leadership as the Assistant to the Bishop. My prayers go with Jeannette and her family as they begin this new chapter along the journey. The wisdom offered by God to Jeremiah seems quite appropriate as we bid Jeannette best wishes:

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to offer you a future with hope". (Jer. 29:11).

The new Assistant to the Bishop will be announced soon.

All my prayers,

Bishop Martin D. McLee
