What's Happening in the Learning Center

Advent has become synonomous with 'busy'.  In the midst of your preparations this advent, try something different - walk a labyrinth.   Perhaps you've taken time at annual conference to walk the NYAC's labyrinth or visited the outdoor labyrinth on the Hofstra University campus.  Walking a labyrinth provides an opportunity to meditate and center one self - to clear the mind and become open to the still small voice of God.

The advent season is the perfect time to experience a labyrinth walk. Christian labyrinths date back to the 4th century and were often laid into the floor of cathedrals.  If you have 40 square feet of open space, you can lay the NYAC's labyrinth in your church hall.  Reserve the labyrinth for your church by contacting Lynda Gomi in the Learning Center.  learningcenter@nyac.com 914-615-2219 or reserve the Learning Center and bring a group to the center.

You can also share in the labyrinth experience with a finger labyrinth.  Start by tracing your finger along the path of the picture below until you reach the center.  May you hear the still small voice of God this Advent season.
