Today we are in full work mode
Today we are in full work mode. After a hearty breakfast we travel to the work site where work is already in progress.
We are minus two of our team who have minor health issues, plus one other who is the accompanist to the hospital for precautionary x ray.
The team is not deterred and we join the workforce right away.
Our first task is to unload some lumber from a truck, That is followed by picking up from where we left off yesterday, forming a bucket line to fill in more pillars for the new church. Much work was done after we left yesterday. Things are really hotting up and we can see the foundation taking shape.
This is our work pre lunch,. One member of the team tis engaged with children;s ministry and there is a whole lot of excitement over where they are. There is singing and laughter and all the other sounds of children enjoying themselves. More signs of recovery and hope.
There is excitement amongst the workforce as the work is going very fast and friendships are being established . In the meantime I am learning creole in the “bucket line”.
Today it is not as hot as yesterday, but we have to have frequent qwater breaks. It is soon lunchtime and we have our snacks , meanwhile the local workers lunch has not arrived and there is siome anxiety.
After an hour's break we resume and it more buckets.
Eventually the workers lucn arrives and the take their lunch break. Resumption is soon and we are at it again. Meanwhile we have good news from about a team member. Results of an xray showed just a bad bruise. Thank God!
We work until 3pm and we leave for the sanctuary of the Guest House. Welcome shower and rest.
Dinner is the susual sumptuous fare and everyone has more than enought to eat. The staff and their usual self . Service with a smile.
Aferwards we have our time of reflection. Today the focus is “Joy” Team members share thir joys of the day and of the weekd thus far. There is the sense that we are makiing diafference by our presnce and the the modest work that we have been able to contribue. We prayed thanking God for the experiences and challenges of the day and God's blessings for the day ahead.
Another day completed .
