REMINDER TAKE THE HQ ONLINE, AVOID THE DEDUCTIBLE
Before August 31, 2010, all participants and spouses covered by HealthFlex active plans (except retirees) will now need to complete the online HealthQuotient (HQ) questionnaire or pay a $250 individual/$500 family deductible before your physicians will receive reimbursements in 2011. There is nothing that can change this. Those who do take the online HQ will continue to have no deductible. If only one person in a family covered by HealthFlex active plans takes the HQ, the deductible will still be charged at $500.
Active plans include all EPO, PPO, EPO/OOA and PPO/OOA plans, regardless of current employment status. This change does not involve Medicare companion plans. This change eliminates the previous $100 bonus for taking the HQ.

United Methodist Calendars Are Now Available

Safe Sanctuary Training
 The July 31st training is hosted at Newman Memorial UMC, 257 Macon St., Brooklyn, NY. Registration with light refreshments is from 8:30-9:00 am; training will begin promptly at 9:00 am and run until noon.

August Safe Sanctuary Informational Conference Calls
Two Safe Sanctuary Training Informational Calls are scheduled for August:
- Tuesday, August 10th @ 2:00 pm and
- again on Thursday, August 12th @ 7:00 pm
This call will be for those who have heard about the need for a Safe Sanctuary policy but have not yet scheduled a training workshop on how to write, approve, and implement a Safe Sanctuary policy.
The call will last 30 minutes and is free--although your own long distance phone charges will apply. Rev. Beth Perry, NYAC's Safe Sanctuary Consultant, will lead the conversation and hopefully answer your questions about Safe Sanctuary training workshops.

Volunteers in Mission Trip Schedules for 2010 and 2011
The United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) currently send teams to Biloxi, Iowa, Chile, Haiti, Ghana, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mozambique, Youth Ambassadors, Thailand/Cambodia.

 Ignite
August 31st is the early registration deadline for the bargain price of $139 to attend the "Ignite" weekend youth event for all teenagers in the New York Annual Conference. This event is to be held on January 23, 24 & 25. For more information click Ignite 2011.
