Bishop Park MarathonRace for Mission Marathon
 
is on Saturday, October 10, in Bushnell Park, Hartford, at 8:00 AM and is in connection with the Hartford Marathon and the Bishop's Partners in Mission.  There are several distances to choose from, including a Kids Run and Team Relay.  Click on Marathon for information.  To register click on Race for Mission.  The registration deadline is September 26.

The C. Wesley Christman Archives of the New York Annual Conference is offering free extra copies of the following pamphlets to anyone who'd like them.  The titles are followed by the publication dates in parentheses.  You may have as many copies as you want until they run out.

  • Maggie Newton Van Cott:  First woman licensed to preach in the Methodist Episcopal Church (1969)
  • Wesley Chapel:  now John Street Church (1973)

These pamphlets offer a rich view of Methodist history in New York.  Please email archivist Mary Robison at archives@nyac.com with the titles and number of copies, and include your name and street address for mailing. 
 
The Resource Library Now Online!

You may search for resources according to age-level, topic, title, or by description and if a resource meets your need, you may order it by clicking on the link and filling out a simple form.  Your order will come to The Learning Center in an email.  If the resource is currently available, we will send it to you.  We are pleased to offer this service to the churches in our conference because of the faithful payment of shared ministry apportionments by our churches!

  • WORSHIP PLANNING CALENDARS for 2009 and 2010 are available free simply by downloading them.  They are extremely helpful for worship leadership teams, church school and others.  Or, if you prefer, there is a 2-page Revised Common Lectionary 2009 that includes holidays, special Sundays and liturgical colors.  This is a helpful reference for Altar Guilds, worship leadership teams, and others.
