Genealogy Workshop
On Sat., March 6th The Commission on Archives and History is holding a Genealogy Workshop at the NY Annual Conference Center, White Plains; 1:00-4:00 pm. Attendance is limited to 25.  This workshop will include discussions with Saugerties historian, author and genealogist Audrey Klinkenberg.  Audrey has been president of the Ulster County Genealogical Society, registrar of a local DAR chapter and serves as the historian for the town of Saugerties, NY.  She writes, "At this workshop we will be focusing on genealogy at the beginning.  Come prepared to ask questions and be ready to find new avenues for research."  To register for this workshop, contact Mary Robison at archives@nyac.com; toll free: 1-888-696-6922 or direct at 914-615-2128.

DoorThis resource book and leader's guide explores the Scriptural texts of Handel's Messiah.  With four sessions on the Advent texts and six sessions on the Lenten texts, it may be offered as two seasonal courses or as one ten-week course.

The United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) currently send VIM teams to the following countries:  Biloxi, Iowa, Chile, Haiti, Ghana, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mozambique, Youth Ambassadors, Thailand/Cambodia.  For a general schedule of missions, dates, leaders and contact information click here to go to the NYAC Web site mission page and click "Volunteers in Mission Trip Opportunities 2010" in the left column or click on the country you are interested in.

  1. WORSHIP PLANNING CALENDAR for 2010 is available free simply by downloading it.  It is extremely helpful for worship leadership teams, church school and others.
  2. FROM THE GENERAL BOARD OF DISCIPLESHIP:
    • Revised Common Lectionary for 2010 is available free simply by downloading it.  This is a helpful reference for Altar Guilds, worship leadership teams, and others.
