How many Methodists does it take to create a totally awesome
MOMENTUM OF MINISTRY?
Bishop Park is truly thankful for all the hard work of hundreds to make the
plans of June 12th come alive!
-
Thank you to the exhibitors who planned an experience for guests — I
figure at least 500 people participated as exhibit hosts in our tents!
-
Thank you to our Hospitality Team, under the direction of
Rev. Barbara Mungin.
-
Thank you to the churches who brought their talented singers, dancers, musicians to our stages!!
-
Thank you to the folks who put together 3,000 Health kits in the
Children and Youth Tent. Altogether the Annual Conference shipped
13,000 health kits—destination Haiti!!
-
Thank you to those people who came up and asked "What can I do?" and graciously helped out!!
-
Thank you to our Annual Conference staff, who spent months in
preparation and hours on site!
-
Thank you to Hofstra staff and especially, Colm Kennedy, for helping
us through the red tape!
-
Thank you for coming . . . by bus, car, van, plane (OK, not by plane!)—
some folks driving 4 hours to get here from the far reaches of our
Annual conference. It felt like a Family Reunion!, gathered in
conversation—sharing a box lunch—smiles everywhere!
In the afternoon--we experienced 5,500 United Methodists singing
"How Great Thou Art" --it took my breath away!
-
Thank you to those who participated in the "Building up the Healthy
Body of Christ" segment. We congratulate Pastors and churches who
truly make a difference!
-
OK—so who knew Bishop Park would do 100 pushups on stage!!!!
-
We introduced "New Spaces for New People"—an exciting plan to open
30 new faith communities.
-
Thank you to our music team, under the Leadership of Jorge Lockward—amazing!
-
Thank you for bringing your banners—who doesn't love a parade!
-
Thank you to our ushers, stage manager, technicians, nurses, liturgical dancers.
-
Thank you to GNTV—our audio, screen, lighting technicians.
-
Thank you for your support of the Bishop's Partners in Mission.
-
Thank you to the over 500 Volunteers in Mission, who were present
to celebrate the Tent exhibits and Mission Celebration.
-
Thank you to our special guests, Rev. Vance Ross and
Bishop James E. Swanson, Sr.
-
Thanks to Joanne Utley, Director of Communications—who never
stopped sending out FACEBOOK and TWITTER updates—taking pictures—writing stories!! BE SURE to go to
www.nyac.com to check out the
gallery of pictures from the whole of Annual Conference.
I am so honored to be a United Methodist and especially honored to
be a member of the New York Annual Conference. You make me proud!!
