Abundant Health “Day of Health” Workshops and Facilitators. Choose 4 during registration.
 
Children’s “Abundant Health” Activities:                                                        Wendy Vencuss
Participants will engage in learning upbeat children’s songs, fun movement activities, and how to create healthy snacks!
 
Community Gardens:                                                                         North Haven : Faith UMC
Information on how to create a Church Community Garden and subsequently develop positive and meaningful relationships with the community will be provided.
 
“Days for Girls” Ministry:                                                                                             Jan Baker
Information about this vital and effective NYAC Ministry will be provided, as well as ways in which your District, Local Church, and Community can become involved. The national “Days for Girls’ Ministry has provided sustainable hygiene solutions and health education for over 800,000 women and girls around the world!

Participants will learn and experience how ”Move 2 Empower” Inc. is partnering with the NYAC as an excellent resource for fitness, health literacy, and programming guidance!  Please wear your sneakers and be ready to move!
 
Pastoral Care Ministries:                                                                                      St. Johns UMC
Information on how to create meaningful Local Church “Caregiving” Ministries will be provided and examples of their importance in the local church and community will be shared.
 
“Seeds of Hope” Seniors Ministry:                                                                      Denise Pickett
Information will be provided about this new local church and community ministry for seniors, which includes Health Screenings, Palliative Care Options, Healthy Eating Tips, and more!
 
Spiritual Formation Outreach Opportunities                                                   Wendy Vencuss
This interactive workshop will share ways in which emotional and spiritual care can be offered through ”Care Teams” in local and community mission and disaster response situations.
 
“Strengthening Families” Program:                                                                            Art Mellor
The (SFP) Program is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program for high-risk and general population families.  This program significantly improves parenting skills and family relationships, reduces problem behaviors, delinquency, alcohol and drug abuse in children.  It also improves social competencies, mental wellness, and school performance.  The (SFP) program helps parents strengthen bonds with their children as they learn more effective parenting skills.
