Letter to the members of the Naugatuck UMC:

Our Church is embracing technology and adopting a giving option that may be more convenient for many members of our congregation – Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Beginning in January, you will now have the option to have your offerings deducted from your checking or savings account and directly deposited into the Church’s account. You may choose a donation frequency: weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly. You may designate funds to go to the General Fund, Capital Funds, or Apportionments. Then complete the remainder of the Authorization Form and mail it to the church, or drop it on the Offering Plate. We will arrange for your savings or checking account to be debited as you select.

Important Benefits of EFT

The Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) program yields significant benefits for out church and makes life easier for you:

  • You get the satisfaction of giving to God first.
  • Less work for church volunteers in processing offerings.
  • A more predictable income flow helps Finance to plan better.
  • Improved cash management with less labor.
  • Easier personal budgeting.

Traditional Choices Remain

We will continue to offer envelopes for those who wish to use them as part of their weekly offering. EFT participants may also use envelopes and mark them “EFT” to indicate that their offering has already been received electronically.

If you currently do not use envelopes, please consider participating in either our envelope program, or the EFT program. Our church needs the consistent support of all our members to remain an example of God’s love in our community and throughout the world.
