Restoration Generation

A movement to get youth and young adults involved in Hurricane Sandy Flood Relief. They have many different locations and are taking applications for summer staff (if you have college students interested in mission work) and they are taking volunteers. They are being led by Rev. Hannah Bonner and are supported by many different Methodist groups (GBHEM, GBOD, UMW and many more). Check out their website for more info www.resgenumc.org.

The Oasis

August 15-18th in Washington, D.C. The event is for young adults (35 and younger) to gather and worship and discuss how to physically and spiritually restore the Northeast. There will be more information and registration up on the resgenumc.org website soon. Please contact Dana Dudkewic at 516-225-0090 if you are interested in car pooling and possibly sharing hotel rooms with other young people from the NYAC.

Student Movement

Student Movement is a grassroots movement of United Methodist college students. Chelsea Spyres is the Field Organizer for the Northeastern Jurisdiction. Here is a message from Chelsea, "Our goal is to start connecting college students together in and through campus ministries. We are starting to provide resources for ministry on the website www.umsm.org. We will start posting resources specifically on prayer and children in poverty. These are two things that came out as things that students wanted to focus on from the conference in St. Louis Imagine What's Next. Keep checking the umsm.org website for prayer resources and more information. If you have any questions or requests for events or resources please do not hesitate to ask. I am excited to get this Student Movement going again and starting relationships with you and many others." Her email is cspyres.umsm@gmail.com.
