The Conference Center is on the Move! (again)

The Conference Center is on the Move! (again)

12/19/2016

Dear Clergy & Laity of the Annual Conference,

Our Conference Center will be relocating back to our White Plains building Monday & Tuesday, 12/ 19 & 20 after a significant renovation that was years in the planning by our Board of Trustees.  Since last May, we have been operating out of temporary space in Greenwich, CT during construction.  The primary purpose of the renovation was to address functional issues with our building, including the installation of better insulated walls and windows, repaving and optimization of the parking lot, HVAC upgrades and a re-design of our largest meeting space (the Perkins Learning Center).  There have also been many cosmetic improvements as well, which now give the building the look and feel of a faith-based center.

Bishop Bickerton has used this opportunity to reconfigure seating for many staff within the building.  This was done to provide a more welcoming and functional experience for you, our valued guests.  It is our hope and our goal, that you will experience a heightened sense of hospitality when walking through our new red doors for the first time.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new and improved Conference Center in January!!

Please see some additional details below.

The move:

  • Conference staff will be shutting down computers on Monday at noon and then packing up files, supplies and other materials.
  • During Monday and Tuesday movers will relocate all files, computers and phones to White Plains.
  • Conference staff will arrive on Wednesday morning ready for work.
  • So please note that staff will be "off-line" from Monday at noon until Wednesday morning.  We ask for your patience during this time if you have sent an e-mail or left a voice-mail.

Meetings:

  • There are many moving parts to our relocation and as such we will be using the small conference rooms along with the Perkins Learning Center as staging areas for excess furniture as well as files and other materials that need to be reviewed, relocated or disposed of.  Accordingly, we cannot accommodate requests for meeting space at the Conference Center until approximately January 15th.  If you would like to schedule a meeting after that date, please contact Carol Merante at either cmerante@nyac.com or 914-615-2227.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Sincerely,  Ross Williams
