UMFF Announces 2017 Ministry Grants

UMFF Announces 2017 Ministry Grants

2/16/2017

The United Methodist Frontier Foundation is pleased to offer the application for the 2017 Rev. Keith Muhleman Ministry Grants

For the fourth year, one or more grants ($5,000 total per Conference) will be awarded to a local church(es) within the New York Annual Conference (NYAC) and one or more grants ($5,000 total per Conference) will be awarded to a local church(es) within the Upper New York Annual Conference (UNYAC). The applications for both grants are to be submitted in an electronic form to the Foundation Office (contactus@umff.org) no later than the close of business on Friday, March 3, 2017. The grant award recommendations will be presented by the Grant Review Committee for full UMFF Board of Directors approval at their April 7-8, 2017 meeting. Both the selected and non-selected churches will be notified soon after the April Board meeting.

Purpose: The purpose of the "UMFF Rev. Keith Muhleman Ministry Grants" is to encourage and support creative and vital ministry in the local church. A grant will be awarded to a local church whose initiative, creativity, and commitment to the Gospel is evident in a ministry or program designed to meet an existing or emerging need within the congregation or greater community. The grant may be used either to establish a new ministry or to support an existing ministry, but may not be used simply as an additional revenue source for the church's Operating Budget. The proposed ministries and programs to be funded (in part) by the grant award must be defined in sufficient detail on the grant application, along with the proposed purpose that the grant award would play in successfully implementing the proposed ministry or program. The application form will also require the applicant church to provide a timeline for the use of the grant award and the measurable objective criteria by which the ministry or program will be evaluated for its success in achieving the results outlined in the ministry/program definition.
