Let us remember the Reverend William Forest Rogers, former member of the New York Conference, who died on December 19, 2013.  He was born on July 12, 1924 and died at the age of 89. On February 22, 1946 he and Ruth Allen were united in Christian marriage.  Ruth resides in Catskill, NY. They are the parents of Forest A. Rogers of Connecticut and William L. Rogers of Hannacroix, New York; there are 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Known as “Bill” to his family and friends, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

When Bill was about 34 years old he answered God’s call to ministry by receiving a Local Preacher’s License (1958); Deacon’s Orders and Probationary Membership (1961); and, Elder’s Orders and Full Membership (1963) in the former New York East Conference. His appointments included East Berlin (’59-’62); and Rocky Hill (’62-’65) both in CT, with the remainder of his service to congregations in NY: Cairo Charge: Cairo, Round Top and South Cairo (‘65-’69); Woodstock (’69-’71) and Ravena (‘71-’76).  Rev. Rogers transferred his conference membership to the Troy Conference (Upper New York) along with the Ravena Church effective January 1, 1977.  Bill entered the retired relationship on May 31, 1987.
