Let us remember the life and ministry of Rev. Edward Anthony Underwood, Jr. who died on April 16, 2016 in Foley, AL.
 
Edward was born in Camden, NJ on April 25, 1930. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, Asbury University in Willmore, KY and Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
 
Rev. Underwood pastored United Methodist churches in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. While in the New York Conference he served Christ UMC in Hartford, CT; Community UMC in North Yonkers, NY, and Wesley UMC in Franklin Square, NY. He retired from the New York Conference in 1994 and moved to Alabama, where he served on the staff of Riverchase UMC in Hoover from 1994 to 2015.
  
Edward is survived by his wife of 63 years, F. Berneice Underwood, of Orange Beach, AL; daughters Debra Sallay of Middlesex, NJ and Diane Colquhoun of Orange Beach, AL; granddaughter, Amanda  Maltez, of Baldwin, NY, and sister, Mildred Abrams, of Wind Gap, PA. A son, David, predeceased him.
 
A memorial service will be held on June 25, 2016 at 4pm at Riverchase UMC in Hoover, AL.
