The dedication of the Kindergarten building was held on Sunday September 20 after the morning worship service. It was led by the Rt. Rev. Kweku Buabeng Odoom, Assistant Bishop of the Methodist Church, Winneba. Present at this dedication were the clergy, the president of the Methodist Women, the lay leader, school teachers, the principal, and leaders of the community. The most inspiring message we received this morning was from the song sung by the children entitled “The Best Book to Read is the Bible.” It seems to me that the hope for a better future begins from nurturing the children in faith and with quality academic education. This vision has been the driving force of our ministry here in this village.

Leaders of the Winneba Methodist Church and the leaders of the Awombrew school who were present pledged to dedicate themselves to the ministry of caring and nurturing the children. In fact the dedication ceremony was not about the building structure that stood in front of us; rather it was about showing God’s love and serving God’s children by working hard to build a better future. The Methodist Church, parents, and school teachers committed themselves to this challenge.
Let us give thanks to the financial support from the Bishop’s Partners In Mission. Above all, the incredible compassionate love from the warm-hearted United Methodists of the Woodbury, Connecticut have made this ministry a reality. I would like to express my special thanks to Jay and RaeAnn Hockenberry, leaders of the Ghana mission for their consistent commitment.
