Dear Family and Friends,
We arrived safely in Beira, Mozambique after a 14 hour non stop flight from JFK to Johannesburg, South Africa. Four hours later we flew from Johannesburg to Beira. It was a long day and night but seeing our friends in Beira made it all worth while.
We are staying in the home of Judge Jone and his wife Paula while in Beira. We just finished a wonderful dinner made by Paula and are ready for a good night's rest before making plans for the week tomorrow.
On Friday, before our flight, I heard from Sharman Wheatley, that the art exchange project that we will work on next week with students from Beira, was selected for presentation at the National Art Education Association National Conference that will be held in Baltimore next April. What a thrill to be able to combine two of my favorite passions - arts education and Mozambique missions - during such a prestigious event.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Peace be with you,
Annette
