The NYES Fellows and Scholars scholarship assistance supports NYAC students attending an accredited college, university, technical, professional or graduate school. Awards typically range from $500 to $1000 for each academic year. Priority is given to 1) first-time applicants, 2) students entering helping professions, and 3) those actively involved in local UMC/campus ministry programs. Deadline: May 1, 2012

Scholarship Fund is designated primarily to assist those persons who are planning to enter full time ordained ministry in a United Methodist Church with special interest in urban ministry. Scholarship Awards will be announced at the New York Annual Conference Session during the UM City Society Report. The application deadline is May 8.
This scholarship was established in memory of Gloster B. Current, Sr. to encourage young persons of African descent to pursue careers in public service such as the ministry, social work, health care or government service. The applicant must attend an accredited institution of higher education, have leadership potential, financial need and be recommended by a pastor of a United Methodist Church.

This $10,000 scholarship is awarded to an incoming undergraduate student from the New York Annual Conference attending Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. Albright College is a small, United Methodist, liberal arts college with a diverse student body in central Pennsylvania. Contact Albright College directly at www.albright.edu.

Scholarships:The division currently offers two scholarships, the Richard S. Smith Scholarship and the David W. Self Scholarship, for United Methodist students entering their freshman year of college in the United States. At this time the opportunity is only available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the United States. We are continuing to seek new ways to help young people outside of the U.S. obtain funding. Deadline: June 1.
The United Methodist Scholarship and Loan Programs are a churchwide educational service providing scholarships and loans to help supplement the financial needs of today's students. Funding for these scholarships and loans are provided through offerings, wills, annuities, and other designated gifts. Through the Loan Program, students may borrow up to $5,000 per year at 5 percent interest (Five for Five program). The 135-year-old United Methodist Student Loan Fund is the oldest student loan fund in the United States. Scholarship application deadline: March 15.

Hoover-Lee Scholarships Program>> Scholarships of up to US $15,000 awarded annually for United Methodist students from Southeast Asia attending United Methodist-related institutions of higher education in the United States
September 11 Memorial Scholarships>> Purpose: To provide assistance for surviving victims and dependents of victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11. The scholarships are restricted to either: (1) students attending one of the 122 United Methodist-related institutions in the United States, or (2) United Methodist students attending higher-education institutions in the United States.
Chaplain Powell Scholarship>> To provide scholarship assistance to students preparing for chaplaincy in any branch of the military.
Dempster Graduate Fellowship>> The purpose of this fellowship is to increase the effectiveness of teaching in United Methodist schools of theology by assisting worthy Ph.D. students who are committed to serving the church through theological education.
Georgia Harkness Scholarship>> To encourage women over 35 to prepare for ordained ministry as an elder in The United Methodist Church as a second career.
