Gloster B. Current Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Gloster B. Current, Sr. to encourage young persons of African descent to pursue careers in public service such as the ministry, social work, health care or government service. The applicant must attend an accredited institution of higher education, have leadership potential, financial need and be recommended by a pastor of a United Methodist Church.
The deadline for submitting an application for the scholarship is April 25, 2014.

New York Education Society Fellowship Program
The NYES Fellows and Scholars scholarship assistance supports NYAC students attending an accredited college, university, technical, professional or graduate school. Awards typically range from $500 to $1000 for each academic year. Priority is given to 1) first-time applicants, 2) students entering helping professions, and 3) those actively involved in local UMC/campus ministry programs. Deadline: May 1, 2014

The United Methodist City Society 2014 Urban Ministry Scholarship Program
Scholarship Fund is designated primarily to assist those persons who are planning to enter full-time ordained ministry in a United Methodist Church with special interest in urban ministry. Scholarship Awards will be announced at the New York Annual Conference Session during the UM City Society Report. The application deadline is May 9, 2014 at 12 noon.

Martin Methodist College Offers Ben Alford Scholarships
The Cal Turner, Jr.Center for Church Leadership of Martin Methodist College awards two Ben Alford Scholars - Developing Church Leader Scholarships each year to students showing exceptional promise in the area of church leadership. These are full four-year scholarships which include the costs of tuition, basic room, and board.

Music Scholarships from The Fellowship Of United Methodists In Music and Worship Arts (FUMMWA)
Each year The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts awards academic scholarships for higher education. The amount varies but scholarship are usually around $1000.00. Deadline: March 15

United Methodist Scholarship and Loan Programs through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry
The United Methodist Scholarship and Loan Programs are a churchwide educational service providing scholarships and loans to help supplement the financial needs of today's students. Funding for these scholarships and loans are provided through offerings, wills, annuities, and other designated gifts.
Scholarship applications are due by midnight March 5, 2014
