April 2021

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Blessings in this Easter Season. May this spring that God creates bring vaccines to you, your families and your congregations. May this spring that God creates bring us closer to hugging one another. May this spring that God creates offer us continued creative and new ways to be in ministry with one another in our homes, churches and communities.

Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton has set the 2021 dates for the 222nd New York Annual Conference. Again this will be a VIRTUAL conference.

  • Those dates are June 10-13, 2021. The theme for 2021 is “On Jordan’s Stormy Banks” using scriptures from Exodus and Isaiah. These dates will include worship, the Episcopal address, the Cabinet report, the Memorial Service, the budget presentation and other essential work.
  • Ordination will take place on Sunday afternoon, June 13, 2021. The time and place will be announced at a later time. The service will be conducted as it was last year with ordinands and families in person and all others watching via live stream.
  • Please note there are other dates yet to be confirmed for the Clergy Session and Legislative Sessions. What we do know is that they will be prior to June 10, 2021.

Please watch the 2021 Annual Conference page on our website for DETAILS. Please pay attention to requests and due dates.

Registration will be required and instructions for registering will be sent under this Annual Conference Banner.

If you are a chairperson of a committee, agency, or commission you must complete and submit your Annual Report no later than April 23, 2021. Reports must be in WORD and be sent to confsecy@nyac.com by the due date. Any questions regarding these reports can be sent to the same email.

As you can imagine this time of COVID has brought with it challenges beyond what anyone could have anticipated. We ask that you remain patient; we ask that you remain hopeful; we ask that you breathe!

Again, any questions, please email confsecy@nyac.com

With Appreciation,

Conference Secretary
