The C. Wesley Christman Archives of the NY Annual Conference
Welcome! The Christman Archives collects and preserves conference records, closed church records, personal collections, journals, and monographs relating to the history and mission of the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The Archives answers reference questions regarding New York area Methodist history and genealogy, and also provides workshops and other records management services to New York Annual Conference local churches.
The Archives receives its funding through Shared Ministry Apportionments and is guided by the Commission on Archives and History of the New York Annual Conference. See below for current news, and see the links to the right for additional information.
What's New at the Archives
- During a notable and highly-attended event, the Commission on Archives and History offered a unique opportunity, the Share Your Story workshop. A select group of clergy and laity interested in honing their storytelling skills with two masterful and renowned professional storytellers— Sheila Arnold and Donald Davis. Go here to watch five story excerpts from the workshop.
- The Commission on Archives and History produced a video and a companion brochure telling the story of Jesse Lee's journey, which began in Connecticut.
- The Commission on Archives and History produced educational biographies, videos, a timeline of NYAC history, and a calendar of NYAC historic places as part of its 250 year celebration of United Methodism in the New York/Connecticut area.
