Bible Study With Rev. Héctor A. Burgos

We're delighted that Rev. Héctor A. Burgos has accepted our invitation to offer a Bible Study and Teaching moment during this year’s Annual Conference. Please mark your calendars and plan to participate in this teaching special moment on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 9:00am and 1pm.

Rev. Burgos, is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. Currently he serves as Superintendent for the Capital and Northern Shore district and as a member of the cabinet of United Methodists of Greater New Jersey (GNJ).

Prior to his current role, Rev. Burgos led in GNJ as Director of Connectional Ministries. He has also served as Lead Pastor of Oasis UMC in Pleasantville, Associate Pastor of FUMC of Tuckerton, Assistant Pastor of West Creek UMC. Rev. Burgos also leads in MARCHA, the official Hispanic Caucus in the UMC, in their executive team as director of communications.

He has an MDiv from Drew University and a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico.

Rev. Burgos recently became a Lewis Community Leaders Fellow. Hector, a Certified ICA Coach, is passionate about urban and multicultural ministries and issues of justice around cultural competence, immigration, institutional equity, and clergy wellness.

He is married to Jazelis Adorno, pastor at Crosswicks UMC, and together they have four children Fabian, Joel, Marcos, and Valeria. In his spare time, Hector enjoys cooking, jogging, and reading books on leadership and congregational vitality.
