New Team Forming for Puerto Rico Recovery
New Team Forming for Puerto Rico Recovery – October 22
Craig Fitzsimmons, recently retired NYAC clergy, will be leading a team to Puerto Rico from October 22 to 29. For additional information or an application form contact the NYAC Missions office (tvencuss@nyac.com).
This past year, NYAC teams have responded to Texas (3), Florida (1), and Puerto Rico (5). Additional teams are scheduled for August (Bishop and Cabinet) and October (Christ and Park Avenue Churches).

Early Response Team Training – August 25
While not necessary to serve on a recovery team to Puerto Rico, the ERT class is the basic training required for disaster response deployment. Our next class:
- ERT Basic (those needing to recert are welcome to attend as well)
- August 25 9 AM to 4 PM
- New Milford UMC 68 Danbury Road, New Milford, CT
- Cost: $10 to include background check and badging
- Lunch will be provided with thanks to the New Milford Church
- On-line registration will be available shortly and required

Mission/Disaster Response Team Leader Training – October 13
Whether leading a group in an overseas mission, early response, or a long-term recovery team, a first and critical part is qualified and experienced team leadership. If you are interested in learning more about leading a team or would like lead a future team this is for you. If you consider yourself experienced as a team leader we would like your input as well. Others can learn from your experiences. An on-line registration form will be available and required.
