Martin D. McLee - Safe in God's Arms
Dear New York Annual Conference Family:
“Because the Lord is my Shepherd I have everything I need. The Lord lets me rest in the meadow’s grass and the Lord leads me beside the quiet stream. The Lord restores my failing health and helps me to do what honors the Lord most…that’s why I safe, that’s why I safe, that’s why I’m safe…SAFE in God’s Arms.”
I have learned many things during my illness including the fact that the people of the NYAC are praying saints and God answers your prayers.
I write from a place of gratitude thanking you for your prayers, cards and other acts of faith on my behalf. While I was quite sick, I am much better now. I am relying on God’s continuous healing in my life as the doctors do what they are trained to do. As a result, I am closer to my goal of being completely restored to good health.
I will be requesting a personal leave under Para. 410.1 of the Book of Discipline in order to continue my healing and restoration. In collaboration with the New York Area Committee on the Episcopacy, the Northeastern Jurisdiction Committee on the Episcopacy, the Northeastern Jurisdiction College of Bishops, and the Council of Bishops, my plans for this leave will be made and shared with you.
I encourage you to be faithful during this challenging time. Know that God is still in charge and God is not done with us. God is up to something!
All my prayers,
Bishop Martin D. McLee
