NYAC Family:

I write to thank you for your support, participation, prayers and for the experience of community at the celebration of our 214th Session of the New York Annual Conference. Thank you for responding so well to new approaches to the experience of Annual Conference. I have received multiple notes of appreciation and compliments. All of the glory goes to God. It is with great expectation that I look forward to what God has in store for us next year!

On our journey toward becoming the beloved community, I invite you to a service, A Faithful Response to Bias Crimes, in response to the anti-gay violence happening in New York City. New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn, 3rd Council District, Manhattan, has called faith communities into action in response to the numerous acts of violence that have recently surfaced. Our NYAC event will take place Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Church of the Village, 201 W. 13th Street, New York City, at 1:00 p.m. As we respond to the violence, we will do so with the tools of our faith. We will experience great music and dance, time for reflection, and a keynote address from our own distinguished scholar, the Reverend Dr. Traci West.

I look forward to this time of deepening our resolve to live as a beloved community. Please contact Pastor Vicki Flippin for additional information. Pastor Vicki can be reached by telephone: (212) 243-5470 or by email: pastorvicki@churchofvillage.org. Directions to the church are available on the website: http://www.churchofthevillage.org.

Thank you for your faithful commitment to Jesus Christ. I look forward to sharing with you on June 22.

All my prayers,

Bishop Martin D. McLee
