Reverend Kun Sam Cho is thankful to God for using him as His instrument and calling him to serve in partnership with other disciples of Christ Jesus for the transformation of the world.
A native of South Korea, Rev. Cho immigrated to California when he was 19-years-old. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara and later moved to New York with his wife, Kyong Hee, searching in search of God’s will for his life. He studied at Union Theological Seminary for three years where he was trained to see and think theologically.
While studying for a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, CT, he confirmed God’s call to serve as an ordained pastor and began his ordained ministry in 1992.
Within the New York Annual Conference, Rev. Cho has served as Senior Pastor at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church (UMC) in Fairfield; Senior Pastor at Central Korean UMC in White Plains; Senior Pastor at Huntington UMC in Shelton; and Associate Pastor at Jesse Lee Memorial UMC in Ridgefield.
He also served as Associate Pastor at San Diego Korean United Methodist Church prior to coming to New York.
Rev. Cho is fluent in both English and Korean. In his “spare” time he enjoys walking, golfing, swimming, reading, singing, and above all, praying. His daily spiritual discipline is contemplative praying in silence.
Rev. Cho and his wife, Kyong Hee Cho, a professional pianist, live with her parents and their eight-year-old Lhasa Apso, Minnie.
