Reverend Roger Jackson is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens. He is most proud of the day when he was called to say “yes” to Jesus Christ and become a disciple.
Rev. Jackson received his call to ministry while attending Springfield Gardens United Methodist Church (UMC) under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Cecil B. Stone. He spent ten years serving the loving and accepting Springfield Gardens congregation as a member of the church’s ministerial staff.
Rev. Jackson received an Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) in business from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Nyack College in Nyack, New York. In 2007, he graduated Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) from New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
Within the New York Annual Conference, Rev. Jackson has served at St. Paul’s UMC in Brooklyn; St. James UMC in Lynbrook on Long Island; First UMC of Hollis in Queens; and First UMC in Roosevelt (Long Island).
Rev. Jackson strives to live a life emblematic of the teachings within Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Rev. Jackson and his wife, Kim, have been happily married for 21 years.
