Reverend Dr. Thomas Gye Ho Kim has written several articles on religion and social change and is the author of The Korean Immigrant Church: A Case of Religion and Ethnicity.
Rev. Dr. Kim received his Bachelor of Theology degree (1986) and Master of Theology (1988) from the Methodist Theological University (MTU) in his native Seoul, Korea. He earned his Master of Divinity (1995) and Doctor of Philosophy (1999) from Drew Theological School. Rev. Dr. Kim was ordained in the New York Annual Conference in 1995.
While serving local churches as a pastor, Rev. Dr. Kim worked as an adjunct professor at the Drew Theological School from 2000-2004. He took a Sabbatical year in 2004 and taught as a visiting faculty at the MTU.
Rev. Dr. Kim serves as part of Abingdon Press’ Bible translation team, where he helped translate the Study Bible into Korean. Rev. Dr. Kim has also translated several other books, including The Disciple, Studying Congregations, and Family-Powered Church.
An avid music lover (he plays guitar, bass, and is now learning how to play the cello), Rev. Dr. Kim is the proud father of two children: Jonathan and Elizabeth.
