The United Methodist City Society and Bronx Pro Developers invite clergy and laity of the NYAC districts whose churches comprise the City Society (Long Island East, Long Island West, Metropolitan, and New York-Connecticut) to join in the official “Blessing of the Construction” of the new Trinity-Rev. William M. James Senior Complex at 2 p.m., October 24, 2019, at 1074 Washington Avenue at E. 166th Street, Bronx, NY.

This $88 million affordable housing project on the former site of Trinity United Methodist Church in the Morrisania section of the Bronx is slated for completion in fall 2021. The154 apartments will include 33 one-bedrooms, 73 studios, an additional 47 studios set aside for formerly incarcerated seniors, and a superintendent’s unit. The Trinity-James Building will be home to individuals and families earning 60 percent of the area’s median income or less. 

The event will be a special day of prayer and celebration with Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton, cabinet members, members of the UM City Society Board of Directors, political leaders, project staff from the Bronx Pro Group team and members of the Magistro family. A reception will follow.
