NY/CT: Sites for Donations for Hurricane Sandy Disaster Area

Ross Porter, NY/CT District Disaster Coordinator issued the following information about items needed in the disaster area:

• Canned goods and non perishable food
• Diapers and baby formula
• Toilet paper
• Flashlights with batteries and
• Used work boots with new socks(no other clothing items please!)

As you collect the items, if you are able, please sort these items into like categories. They could be left in bags or sorted into boxes, whichever is easier for you.

There is no deadline on our collection because this will be a long-term recovery. Ross has been told that the Long Island Food Pantries will need items for quite a while. As we move along some items will not be as needed as others, but the food will remain a mainstay. If any member of your church would like to personally deliver your items to the affected area, please contact Ross at wrporter115@verizon.net or call  914-261-1402.
