Did you know United Methodists shared nearly $520,000 in offerings on Human Relations Day last year? Human Relations Day is one of the six churchwide Special Sundays with offering of The United Methodist Church.

Human Relations Day calls all God’s children in realizing their potential as human beings in relationship with one another. The special offering benefits neighborhood ministries through Community Developers, community advocacy through United Methodist Voluntary Services and work with at-risk teens through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program. That more than a half-million dollars made it possible to nurture some of God's children like women in Oklahoma recently released from prison and looking for work.

United Methodists celebrate Human Relations Day on the Sunday before the national observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Human Relations Day is Jan. 18, 2015.
