Mrs. Dongwon Kim

Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Dongwon Kim, 92, of Watchung, NJ who died on Sunday July 11, 2021.

Dongwon was born on August 18, 1928. She was the widow of Rev. SungNam Kim. Rev. Kim served in the New York Conference from 1978 until his retirement in 1990. He was the founding pastor of Astoria Korean United Methodist Church, where he served from 1978 to his retirement in 1990. Rev. Kim died in July 2017.

Mrs. Kim is survived by her four children, Rev. Eunchun Kim, Rev. Haesun Kim, Heakyung Hahn and Heain Choi, and their spouses. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dongwon Kim’s life, death and resurrection will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021. The viewing will be at 9:00am, and the service will begin at 11:00am at the Arcola United Methodist Church, 52 South Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652.
