Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Camille Alethia Shand, who died on September 14, 2017. She was the daughter of retired clergy, Rev. Wesley F. Shand.

Camille was born on August 27, 1969 in St. Andrew, Jamaica. She immigrated to the United States with her family. Camille graduated from Tilden High School in Brooklyn with honors, and then attended Boston University, graduating with a bachelor of arts in philosophy in 1994. She worked at Joslyn Diabetes Research Center and at The Boys and Girls Club of Boston as assistant director of development operations. Camille also served as a board member for Dorchester YMCA and was an ongoing volunteer and mentor.

Camille is survived by her parents, Wesley and Hortense; three sisters, Megan, Gail and Carrie-Anne; two brothers, Wesley II and John; and by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and numerous friends and co-workers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St Paul’s United Methodist Church, 3714 Avenue D, Brooklyn, NY 11203 at 11:00am.
