Ms. Eleanor C. Snow

Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Eleanor C. Snow of Brewster, MA who died on February 2, 2016. She was born on April 3, 1934 in Bronxville, NY.

Eleanor was a graduate of Darien High School, Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and SUNY New Paltz with a master's degree in elementary education. For over 25 years Ellie was a dedicated teacher at school systems in Greenwich and Simsbury, CT. Most recently she taught at the Stony Brook Elementary School and after-school program in Brewster, MA.

Ellie loved spending time in her garden, with her book club and volunteering in the community. She was an active member at Orleans United Methodist Church in Orleans, MA. Most of all, Ellie loved spending time with her family and many wonderful friends, who will always remember her energy, loving spirit and commitment to children.

Eleanor was the widow of Rev. M. Lawrence Snow who died in 2009. Rev. Snow served 48 years in the New York Conference, at Darien, CT UMC; Greenwich, CT UMC; Community UMC in Poughkeepsie, NY; Stamford, CT UMC and Simsbury, CT UMC. 

Ellie was predeceased by a daughter, Katrina Snow. She was also the devoted mother of Chris Snow and wife Cathy of Fort Myers, FL; Karen Householter and husband David of Manhattan Beach, CA; Stephen Snow and wife Kathleen of Hingham, MA, and Peter Snow of Sterling, AK. In addition Ellie is survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews.
 
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Orleans United Methodist Church, 73 Main Street, Orleans, MA with a reception immediately following in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie's memory to the Nauset Youth Alliance, 384 Underpass Road, Brewster, MA 02631.
