Pastor Gerald Norris

Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Pastor Gerald Norris, 83, of Booklet, GA who died on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Gerald was licensed to preach in 2003 and served Memorial UMC in Shandaken and Lanesville UMC, both in NY. He retired in 2012 and continued to preach in retirement until 2017.

Gerald was very active in the Lay Servant Ministry activities of the Catskill Hudson District.

He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn Norris, his grandson Jeremiah Conger Norris, and his daughter, Darla Eckert. He is survived by his wife Maria Pinto Norris; and his sons, Gerald A. Norris (Pam) of Schenectady, NY, Cory Ackerly (Brianne) of Brooklet, GA and Mark Ackerly (Nicole) of Vermont. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00am at the Deal Funeral Directors, 22757 US-80, Statesboro, GA 30461.
