Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Rev. Carolyn Joyce Strack, 76, who passed away suddenly on May 31, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1945 to George and Shirley (Herr) Siegl in Valley Stream, NY.
 
Carolyn was a graduate of Nassau Community College, Hofstra University and the Drew University School of Theology. She became a full elder with the United Methodist Church in 1985. She served as pastor of Litchfield and Bantam UMCs in CT from 1983 to1986, and then moved to Long Island where she pastored United Methodist Church of Richmond Hill and Ozone Park UMC from 1986 to 1995. From 2001 to 2008 she served as a chaplain with Hospice of The Comforter in Orlando, FL. During this time she counseled families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. She retired in 2008.
 
Carolyn was a people person and never met anyone who was a stranger for very long.
 
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Daniel Strack of Kissimmee, FL, and her sister, Barbara Siegl of Rockville Centre, NY.
 
A celebration of her life was held on Sunday June 13, 2021, beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jim Berlau officiating, at Peace United Methodist Church, 13502 Town Loop Blvd, Orlando, FL 32838.
 
In addition there will be a graveside service on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Greenfield Cemetery (650 Nassau Rd), Lot 79, in Uniondale, NY.
