Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Rev. Dr. Winson C. Josiah, 86, who died on Friday, October 9, 2020 in New York. Winson was born on July 30, 1934.

Rev. Dr. Josiah received his D.Min from Palmer Theological Seminary in St. Davids, PA in 1986. He served churches in the Wyoming Conference from 1982 to 1989. In the New York Conference he served Christ UMC in Brooklyn until his retirement from New York in 2001. In retirement he served St. Mark’s UMC and Summerfield UMC, both on Staten Island.

In retirement Rev. Dr. Josiah also worked as a therapist in family and marriage counseling. In 2013 he published "Aging, Embrace It!" This book addresses life changes and relationships, with the goal of giving hope and peace of mind in the midst of ailments, discouragement, bereavement, old age, loneliness, and approaching death.

Winson is survived by his wife, Packia; his son, Ranjit; and his daughter, Serene. The family was immediately traveling to Vermont for the funeral and burial. Further details are not known at this time.
