The Reverend Gale Holger Hansen

Let us remember with thanksgiving the life and ministry of Rev. Gale Holger “Hogie” Hansen, 86, of Newtown Square, PA who passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Rev. Hansen was ordained a Full Elder in 1964. He pastored Seymour: Great Hill and Oxford. He spent most of his career in extension Ministries: Assistant Director of Ministry in National Parks, NCCC; Director of Alumni Relations, Earlham College; Associate Director of Development, Earlham College; Associate VP Swarthmore College; VP for Institutional Advancement, Haverford College; Secretary of Haverford College. Rev. Hansen retired in 2002.

He is survived by his beloved wife Anne Hansen; his children Peter Holger Hanses (Allison), Deborah Hansen (James McConnell), and Sarah Hansen (John Terwilliger); his grandchildren Katie Hansen (Patrick King), William Hansen, Michael McConnell, Rachel McConnell, Sam Terwilliger, and Emma Terwilliger; siblings David Hansen and Diane Hansen.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Swarthmore United Methodist Church, 129 Park Ave., Swarthmore, PA. Interment was private.
